The 81st Annual Four States Fair & Rodeo is officially underway in Texarkana, bringing together live entertainment, rodeo action, great food, and plenty to do for all ages. Whether you come out for the rides, the shows, or just to enjoy the smell of funnel cakes and the sound of carnival rides in the background, there’s something happening every day through April 12. Here’s a look at some of the can’t-miss events and everything you’ll want to experience while you’re out there.
April 3–12 | The 81st Annual Four States Fair & Rodeo
There’s a lot happening out at the fair this week, kicking off Friday, April 3rd and running through Sunday, April 12th. If you’re planning to go, it’s a good idea to grab your Fair tickets ahead of time so you can get through the gate without any hassle.
Once you’re out there, it’s all the classics, from roller coasters and rides spinning all day to games where you have to stop and try your luck at winning that giant plushie we all want. You’ll also find vendors and all the fair food you can think of, perfect for grabbing something fried to walk around with while you decide what ride to get on next. And if you’re bringing the kids, make sure you swing by the Ag Learning Center for free mini ice cream cones.

Saturday, April 4 | Demolition Derby
Presented by Texarkana Mack and Volvo Trucks. Gates open at 4 PM and the show starts at 5 PM, so it’s a good idea to grab your Demo Derby tickets early and get there in time to find a good spot.

Thursday, April 9–Saturday, April 11 | Four States Rodeo
The rodeo is where you’ll catch bull riding, barrel racing, and roping, with one run right after the next. It’s one people around here look forward to every year, and you’ll see folks come in from out of town and even out of state to be part of it, whether they’re competing or just there to watch. Oh, and Boom Boom the Clown is out there in between, keeping things fun while they get ready for the next run. If you’re planning to go, here are a couple nights to keep in mind:
- Thursday: Cavender’s Kids Night at the Rodeo, kids 12 and under get in free with a paying adult.
- Saturday: Secured Assist Night at the Rodeo.
Go ahead and pick a night, or even a couple, and grab your Rodeo tickets early so you can make sure you’re there for it all.

There’s live music going on throughout the week too, so no matter when you show up, you’ll probably catch something while you’re out there.

It’s a packed week with a lot going on, so it’s easy to find something you’ll want to check out. Grab some friends or bring the family and head out for a bit.
