The Texarkana Arkansas A&P Commission supports events, projects, and marketing efforts that attract visitors, fill hotel rooms, and showcase everything that makes our community special. Whether you’re organizing a regional tournament, an arts festival, or a cultural celebration, we want to help make it happen.

Our Funding Priorities

We prioritize funding for events and initiatives that drive tourism, showcase what makes Texarkana, Arkansas, unique, and create lasting value for both visitors and the local community. Events should be open to the public and demonstrate tourism impact through marketing, attendance, and hotel usage.

Increase overnight hotel stays in Texarkana, Arkansas

Promote the city to regional, state, or national audiences

Support arts, culture, history, and recreation

Activate public spaces for community and visitor use

Encourage repeat visits through unique, high-quality experiences

Funding & Grant Requests

The Texarkana A&P Commission allocates available funds each year at its October quarterly meeting for distribution beginning January 1 of the following calendar year. Please review the A&P Commission Bylaws (.pdf) for full details, including Article VIII, which outlines the fund allocation process. To apply for funding, complete the application form linked below and submit a written request that includes the following:

Background and purpose of your organization
A summary of the event or attraction and its target audience
Explanation of how the funding will directly promote tourism and economic development in Texarkana, Arkansas
Description of the impact if the event is not funded or only partially funded
Financial statement from your most recent fiscal year-end
Five-year history of A&P funds received (if any), including how those funds were used and results achieved
Status of any unspent A&P funds
Total organizational budget for the funding period

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Be sure to include all required documentation.

The completed application, along with 10 copies of the written request, should be mailed to:

If funding is awarded, whether in full or in part, recipients are required to submit a written summary within 60 days of the event’s completion. This report must include attendance figures and a financial overview.

Applications for Grant Funding

The Texarkana, Arkansas Advertising & Promotion Commission will not be accepting grant applications for the 2025 cycle, as no grants will be awarded this year while the program undergoes review and revision.
